The placement process
Families usually begin with the learner’s current school or district office. Supporting reports and SIAS documents are reviewed. A multidisciplinary team may evaluate the learner for the district. The district official then recommends and confirms an appropriate LSEN placement.
- Begin the referral through the correct school or district route
- Submit complete educational, medical and therapy information
- Take part in assessment or consultation when requested
- Wait for the district’s formal placement decision
